During the Millenium year we secured the original Factory tooling from Firth Furnishings to produce moulded carpet sets for all Minis built after May 1973. On the rear of the moulded floor carpets you will notice the original tool numbers embossed in the foam backing. The gear box linkage mechanism was changed to a rod system which included a redesign of the gear box tunnel in the front floor area. These new sets have both front and rear sections moulded to the floor panel, which not only makes them look brilliant, but makes fitting for you much easier. The floor, wheel aches and front bulkhead pieces all have felt insulation either moulded into them or loose to fit under each carpet piece. We also supply a piece of carpet to go right across the cross member in front of the seats, a pair of sill carpets and lastly a set of carpet securing clips and body attachments. This set can be fitted in about two hours with no trimming needed. Buy them!

The beauty of this carpet set is that it has been made to fit the body contours exactly. Apart from the two main floor mats the remaining items need to be glued in place. Glue is not included in this kit - we would suggest you use a spray can adhesive. The bulhead carpet behind the heater has a felt backer which can used for either LHD or RHD cars and needs to be glued in place. The front wheel arch carpet pieces have the felt backers. The sill carpets are cut to size also. The cross member carpet is designed to go right across the car, however if you want originality you need to cut this piece so it only about 10" wide from the sill. We have marked positions on the under side of the front carpet for steering column position for LHD or RHD cars. The rear floor mat is also moulded and will fit in place perfectly.
