Visually the front seats on the 2 Litre cars look the same, but as soon as one removes the covers, there is a difference in the frames as well as the padding. Fortunately, the base cover, base foam and diaphragm are the same, but it’s in the squab area that they differ.
It is possible from the outside to tell the difference between the two seats by measuring the top panel as shown below, also feel the horizontal bar behind the seam line across the back of the seat frame. The Mk I frame has a single bar (and is identical to the 13/60 ) the Mk11 frame has two bars. Carefully inspect the Mk.II spring arrangement, as these can be broken. If so please see the note below.
