The Suffolk seat has now become synonymous with the Newton name, a complete seat with headrests, reclining backrest and sliding driving position that allows extra comfort and support while still being in keeping with the original interior on a number of classic interiors. Available for Minis to Morris Minors, MGs to TRs, this complete seat option is the perfect bolt in addition to any restoration.

However, we wanted to add a new spin on this classic, modernising our options and adding the range of customisability that our customers desire. Our product development team streamlined the Suffolk seat, removing the piping and adding an elegant top stitched finish combining with a retro cloth centre. Early designs in summer 2022, worked with Iain Telfer on his fabulous Mini, Doug, combining a beautiful Cooper purple tartan with his stunning late British Racing Green classic Mini for a bespoke set of complete front and rear seats. 

Not only have our development team designed a set of seats, we also knew we needed to make the Suffolk MKII the complete package so adding complimentary panels was our next step. Using our high frequency welder, our brand new cloth topped panels for both the door panels and rear quarter panels again offer contemporary styling in keeping with the Mini design and can be combined with our standard trim to create the perfect complimentary interior, all made in our UK based factory by our team of skilled craftsmen and women.

Suffolk MKII Launch at Mini Fair

Launched January 2023 at British Mini Club's Bingley Hall Mini Fair, our Suffolk MKII interior was an instant hit. Working with Lee Baker on his Smugwood Mini project, this beautiful 1980's Mini was the talk of our stand and highlighted the incredible workmanship of the Newton interior but also the excellent work of Dennis Parkin at Classic and Retro Restorations and Paul Jeffries at Classic Mini Garage. The overall look of the Smugwood Mini is a nod to the Historic Racing Minis and the Suffolk MKII with Lee's monochromatic interior with a touch of red completes this stunning Mini which is due for final completion in Summer 2023. 

With our classic Mini range now available through our website, our development team will be working on bringing this Suffolk MKII styling to our other models including our popular VW Suffolk seat and panels, using the popular Westfalia cloth so watch this space...
